Welcome to the Open Journal of Health Services Research, an author-driven, open and distributed alternative to academic journals that is tuned to the dynamic nature of many of our modern experiments and discoveries!

The Open Journal of Health Services Research is excited to leverage PubPub’s platform - a free and open tool for collaborative editing, instant publishing, continuous review, and grassroots journals. PubPub reinvents publication to align with the way the web was designed: collaborative, evolving, and open.

PubPub’s creators - three Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) graduate students - were driven by the belief that publishing should be author-driven, that trust and rewards for participation should be widely distributed, and that constituents should be encouraged to curate material according to specific fields of interest, creating their own “journals” where appropriate. The idea is to take the “gate-keeping” of scientific research away from the traditional journals and open it up to the scientific community, producing more robust, collaborative, and authentic science.

Over the summer and autumn of 2018, we will be working to create a collaborative community to bring this journal to life (planned launch in 2019) - a much needed breath of fresh air for the domain of health services research.

For further information on how PubPub works, please view the instructional documentation and videos. To learn about how to get involved in the development of the Open Journal of Health Services research, please send an email to [email protected].

Welcome to this grand experiment!
